In an election year, the topic of the effect of a recession on youth mental health is at fever pitch. Spiralling unemployment and expensive universities causing a loss of ambition, self-esteem and a decline into depression for predominantly working-class youth.

Three of the characters cling to the hope that the uncertainty and confusion of adolescence will clear but having returned from university one of them knows that it is a long road. As they navigate the pitfalls of modern life, they must realise that mistakes big and small are the only way forward.
